First Paralegal is structured to provide substantive paralegal support in a way that complements an attorney’s practice while preserving clear professional boundaries. This ensures compliance, clarity, and an efficient working relationship from the outset.
All work is performed under the direction and supervision of a licensed attorney. The attorney defines the scope of work, provides instruction, reviews deliverables, and remains professionally responsible for all matters and work product.
First Paralegal focuses on substantive legal work that attorneys commonly delegate to a paralegal, including legal research, drafting, discovery assistance, document preparation, and litigation support. These tasks are handled based on attorney instruction and integrated into the attorney’s existing workflow.
Support is task-based and adaptable, allowing attorneys to assign work across active matters without adding permanent staff or shifting internal firm processes.
To maintain clear role separation, First Paralegal does not provide services that fall outside the scope of substantive paralegal work. This includes legal advice, independent legal judgment, or assuming responsibility for case strategy, client counseling, deadlines, or outcomes.
First Paralegal also does not provide administrative or legal assistant services, such as internal case management, calendaring, billing, or firm operations.
